IRD Alpina-d Compact Road Triple Front Derailleur

OUT OF STOCK - NO ETA

IRD/Soma Alpina-d Compact Road Triple Front Derailleur

This is the only current front Derailleur that is compatible with both:

•Mid-sized triple crankset (46-48 tooth big ring)

and

•Shimano drop handlebar ("road") STI front shifters

Available for 3 different sized seat tubes with clamp mount, and for braze-on mount.

All variations use the same basic braze-on Derailleur. Clamp on versions come with an appropriate clamp adaptor installed.

      Comments:

The clamp was not installed as promised in product description. I had to figure it out without instructions. Scary. Great looking product though.

      Works well

            Comments:

Have this on 2 bikes. Both have Sugino triple cranksets and SRAM 9-speed chains. Chainrings are 48-36-24 and 48-36-26. Both were fairly easy to adjust and both shift reliably and pretty smoothly. Both are actuated with DiaCompe friction shifters. I have added N-Gear Jump-Stops on both bikes because no wide range front derailler can entirely prevent missed shifts on the inside. Unless corralled, dancing chains will sometimes dance off on their own.
