2013 Giant Defy 1

Giant's Defy 1 lets you cruise roads and over the hills on the horizon. Giant's ALUXX SL aluminum frame and Advanced carbon fork with an OverDrive steerer let the Defy dominate the climbs while soaking up road vibration for a super-smooth, refined ride. This rocket is more than just fast though, you'll love the tall head tube and stable geometry that allows for a more comfortable position so you feel great through every mile. This Defy boasts Giant's lightweight P-R2 rims along with Shimano's awesome 105 gruppo for crisp shifting, Tektro brakes for confident stopping, as well as reliable Giant components for a fast ride that's amazing everywhere you go.

      Comments:

Compared this bike to a couple other name brands (Trek, Specialized) similar price point. I am 6'6 270 It was more comfortable for me than the others. After over 400 miles it has held up well which was my concern with a road bike. Handles well brakes stop great, the Shimano 105 group live up to the hype.

I just bought this bike yesterday and only have 30 some odd miles on it but I really like it. Flattens hills like I wouldn't have believed and hauls rear down the other side. Shifts effortlessly, smoothly and consistently.

            Comments:

I've been wanting a road bike for years after growing up with a Schwinn Varsity 10 speed in 1973, I bought a Defy 1 on my 50th birthday. I wanted a comfortable yet fast bike to compete in Sprint Triathlons and enjoy while exercising. Defy 1 with 105 components was the by far the best bike I test rode (and I rode nearly every brand). Even with a sit bone issue that I haven't been able to get rid of for years, I was able to ride 20 miles on my first outing. I ride at an average of 16 mph and love it. I'm hooked on cycling now and love my Defy 1. Now if I could just find a seat designed for ease the pain of sit bone nerve issues, I could ride for hours!
