This model is an all-salmon version of the Mountain Pad.
A major upgrade from the Thinline, they have a double curved design that provides substantially more contact area. Full salmon coverage provides maximum braking power.
Note! Although Kool Stop's marketing folks think of this as a "mountain bike" item, these are actually the very best option for all brakes that use threaded studs.
They may be a problem for front brakes on some bikes that have excessively tight clearance between the fork blades and the rim.

I put these on 2 bikes. I found them hard to adjust and nearly impossible to keep from squealing. Kool Stop salmon rubber is great, but I suggest you use the Kool Stop Supra 2 or Eagle 2 instead of this style. (Supra or Eagle depends on the mounting hardware of your brakes.). I find the Supra and Eagle styles easier to adjust and less squeal prone.

I really like the KoolStop Salmon rubber. For me it has given less rim wear, improved wet braking and fine dry braking. I found the Mountain style pads difficult to adjust and prone to squealing. I prefer the KoolStop Supra pads with Salmon rubber. They are easier to adjust and I have experienced much less squeal with them, even installed on the very same bike and wheel.
