Velocity 700c A23/ 105 5800 Road/Tour Wheel Set 32 Spoke Silver

Shimano 105/Velocity A23 32 spoke machine-built wheel set.

Front & rear wheel. QR skewers included. Silver rims and hubs.

The A23 is like a narrower version of the popular Dyad. A strong, lightweight rim for road and light touring.

-Hubs: Shimano 105 5800 7/8/9/10-speed cassette type.
-Rims: Velocity A23. Silver. Presta drilled.
-Spokes: 32 DT Swiss 2.0/1.8mm Double-butted, stainless steel.
-Rear Hub Spacing: 130 mm Standard road.
-Recommended Tire Width: 23mm to 32mm.

Will accept any Shimano-type cassette made in the last 15 years, 7-speed, 8-speed, 9-speed or 10-speed. (7-speed requires an additional 4.5 mm spacer to fill in the gap.)

      Comments:

This is an addendum to an earlier review. I used a spoke wrench and trued the rear wheel with just a couple of tweets. I'm giving it one more star as I'm a good deal more satisfied now. I have this wheelset on an old Masi that I've had for years. It looks better than ever.

      Not so Great

      About Me

      Comments:

Rear wheel went 3 mm out of true the moment tire was mounted and it hit the road. Here's a strange thing. These rear hubs have only ONE nut with a flat on it on either side. Just how does Shimano expect me to adjust the bearings? OK. I have a work around: I grab the end lock nut which is round with a Vise Grip and loosen the nut with a flat on it with a cone wrench. Sure I buggered up the lock nut a bit. Pitty too on a new wheel.
