This version is for:
Old-style mount with adaptor claw, for
older frames that don't have a built-in hanger.
This will index with any Shimano system except pre-97 Dura Ace.
These derailers and matching freewheels are a great way to upgrade older bikes to wide-range indexed shifting.

I bought this to replace a broken derailleur on my 1970s vintage 10 speed road bike with friction shifters. It fit perfectly and was easy to adjust. Shifting on the old bike has never been this good. A great, low-cost way to revive an old bike to which you've become emotionally attached over the decades.
