The IQ CYO "R" series features a beam pattern that eliminates the "dark zone" immediately in front of the rider.
SENSO version has daylight sensor. Turns on automatically.
The Lumotec IQ CYO is the most affordable of the super-bright LED generator headlights to come out in the past few years.
The reflector and LED are virtually identical to those found in the Schmidt Edelux.

I'm using it on an unlit bike path, and it's very well suited to that. It gives a very useful, comfortable pattern. Doesn't blind oncomers, while still giving a more useful light than my 1A/3W battery LED flashlight did. Slightly dimmer spot, but larger, and the spill is much brighter, in a controlled, useful area. I can't see so much of the trees above me though :). I power it from a Sturmey Archer dynohub. It produces useful light from just above walking pace. I'm not convinced the 'R' pattern is worthwhile. Mounted on the fork crown the additional area is blocked by the wheel anyway. The non-'R' area is still pretty close. I think the Senso feature is probably worthless. Mine seems defective anyway - still had the light on in sunshine. I'm disappointed it's just one emitter. A Dynamo could drive many more at the expense of a little higher speed startup. That would be no serious detriment.
