Comments:
I use the Falcon chinese shifters on a 3x8 shimano full suspension mtn bike (Jamis). They work with 5-8, maybe 9 speed, and 3 ring cranks. They work with shimano or SRAM derailers, even 1:1, just fine. The rubber grips need to be glued on (hot glue, super glue, tire glue etc) if you tend to pull on them with your gloves. Adding blue loctite to the tension screws made them stay put virtually forever. Adding small lock washers under the mounting screw heads cured "walking" on the handlebars. I love these and have gotten another pair in case I bash them.
