This excellent aluminum rim is a great upgrade for your older three-speed bike or for a smaller size road bike.
This is, by far, the finest rim that has ever existed in this size. Stronger and lighter than the original steel rims, it will also make a considerable improvement in braking performance.
I have to agree, it seems a bit bit. I have Kenda tires on mine, and it was a struggle to get them on.
Nevertheless, this is the only 650A rim out there (that I know of), and an excellent upgrade to the Raleigh 3-speed; definitely worth carrying an extra tire iron in the field.

Comments:
Great improvement over stock steel rims on my Raleigh 3-speed. But the tires that were on there fit *very* tight on the Sun rims. I never needed tire levers before, but now I definitely need them for the front (32-hole) and can't get a tire on the rear 40-hole one without a shop tire tool. Which means if I get a flat in the rear then I'm taking the train home...
