Made for BMX applications, these are also an excellent choice for upgrading older 3-speeds or any other type of bike that needs an extra long (70-88 mm!) reach. The calipers are solid and well finished, with anti-friction sleeves on the springs.
These use external nuts for mounting to the frame for rear use. The brake bolt is not long enough to use an external nut on the front fork.
For front use, use recessed mounting. Note:The fork hole might have to be drilled-out so the recessed nut will fit. (recessed nut not included).
The stock brake shoes aren't so hot...for best results, upgrade with Kool Stop salmon, any of the threaded-shaft types. We particularly recommend the Kool Stop "BMX" model for best performance with these calipers.
